Charles Franklin Adams, MD Charles Franklin Adams was born in Greenwich, Cumberland Co. in 1859, the son of Clement and Susan Adams. He came to Delanco with his family in 1867. “Frank,” as he was known, attended Delanco schools and joined Dobbins Memorial Methodist Church in 1869. The family moved to Bordentown in 1875. Charles earned his medical degree specializing in eye, ear, nose and throat. He married May Robinson. He joined the US Army Medical Corps and became Chief of his specialty at Camp Green Base Hospital in North Carolina. He served there through WWI treating soldiers suffering from the effects of poison gas. Caduceus Magazine featured Dr. Adams in a cover story in 1918. Charles K. Adams Charles K. Adams was listed on the original Delanco WW II Honor Roll. He was born August 19, 1906 in Burlington. He joined the US Army Medical Corps as a Tec 5 on June 30, 1943 and served until October 24, 1945. He married Carolyn and they lived in Delanco. Charles died August 2, 1977 at age 70. Carolyn died in 1989 at age 80. They are buried in Lakewood Memorial Park in Cinnaminson. US Army, Tec 5 Medical Services WWII 1906 – 1977

Kenneth M. Adams Kenneth M. Adams was born 1963. He served in the US Navy from July 1981 to March 1996, through the Cold War, Desert Shield and Desert Storm, specializing in Surface Warfare. He served on the staff of Commander of Naval Beach Group 2, serving aboard USS Manitowoc (LST-1180) and USS Iowa (BB-61) in the Atlantic, Mediterranian, and in Saudi Arabia. He separated with the rank of Lieutenant O-3. Ken has lived in Delanco from 2001 to present and has been serving in several capacities as Committee Chair for Delanco Troop 19, Boy Scouts of America. William A. Albright William A. Albright, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Albright of 307 Buttonwood Street; Brother to George and Gerald Albright, enlisted for service on May 14, 1942. He served in a coastal artillery battalion in the South Pacific during WWII seeing action on Bataan and Corrigador. Bill was initially listed as Missing in Action after the fall of Corrigador, but had been taken prisoner by the Japanese and held in a prison camp in Indonesia. He held the rank of Private. Millard F. Allen Millard F. Allen was born in Riverside, New Jersey on April 12, 1903 to Joseph & Mary Bush Allen. He married (1st) Verna Scott, who died in 1933 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery. Millard married (2nd) Cora May Southwick in 1935. They lived on Union Avenue in 1940. He joined the US Army and served in the 286th Ordinance Medium Maintenance Co during WWII. His unit was based at Bangor Armed Forces Reserve Center in Bangor, Maine and was deployed in England. Millard died in Atlantic City, New Jersey on April 29, 1971 at age 68. Cora died in Burlington County in 1978. Millard and Cora are buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burlington City. Millard was listed on the original Delanco WW II Honor Roll. US Army PFC 286th Ord Co. Charles E. Allison Charles E. Allison was born in 1847. He entered the Civil War on January 23, 1865 and served as a private in D Company, 40th NJ Volunteer Infantry of the Union Army, for which he earned a $685 bounty from Delanco. His residence before and after the war is unclear. Charles died December 20, 1913 and is buried in the St. Andrews Graveyard in Mount Holly, New Jersey. Frank Ambrose Frank Ambrose served in the US Navy during WWI and was listed on Delanco's original WWI Honor Roll. He was honored on Memorial Day 1928. After the war he returned to Delanco and partnered with Wade Leconey in the electrical contracting business. Frank lived in an apartment at 638 Pennsylvania Avenue. US Navy ? WWI ?
Rev. E. James “Jay” Amey James E. "Jay" Amey was born in Freemansburg PA. He served during WWII as a chaplain’s assistant mostly in Honshu and Hokkaido, Japan during the occupation. After the war, Jay completed his degree in Theology. He came to Delanco to serve as Pastor at Dobbins Memorial Methodist Church in the late 1990s. US Army Chaplain Corps WWII ?
Robert Angle Robert Angle was born October 12, 1922 in New York. In 1940, he was living on Main Street in Guilford, Chenango, New York. He joined the US Army Air Corps in WWII. He rose to the rank of Captain and earned the Air Medal and 3 OLC. He married Louise and lived for a time in Delanco. He moved many times over the years, and was in Toms River, NJ in 1989. Robert died on October, 16, 2001 at age 79. Louise died in 2015 at age 90. Both were buried in Wlm. C. Doyle National Cemetery in Arneytown. USAAC, CPT ? WWII 1922 - 2001

Frank R. Applegate Frank R Applegate was born about 1920, the son of Ivy Applegate and brother of Richard Applegate. He grew up on Washington Street in Delanco and graduated from Palmyra High School. He was an athlete and worked as a counselor at Camp Ockinickon. He was an expert marksman and oarsman. He joined the US Navy, training in Newport Rhode Island in 1940. He served as a machinist at Norfolk Naval Base and served during WWII, earning the rankof Chief Machinist Mate. After the war he became a partner in VAMCO with Paul Vollmar and Richard Maloney. The shop was located in the alley behind 409 Burlington Avenue. Frank was listed on the original Delanco WW II Honor Roll. Richard Applegate Richard Applegate was born about 1918, the son of Ivy Applegate and brother of Frank Applegate. He grew up on Washington Street in Delanco. Richard was listed on the original Delanco WW II Honor Roll. ? ? WWII 1918 -
Frank D. Appleton Frank D. Appleton was born in 1917. He served in the US Army in WWII. Frank and his wife Lillian lived at 300 Fenimore Lane in Delanco. Two daughters. Later in life he moved to Coral Springs Florida. Frank and Lillian were in a serious auto accident on Thanksgiving Weekend, November 29, 1987. Lillian was killed and Frank was seriously injured. He died in February 1993 at age 75. Frank and Lillian were buried at Forrest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Pompano Beach, Florida. US Army ? WWII 1917 - 1993
Donald J. Armstrong Donald J. Armstrong was born May 25, 1931 and grew up in Delanco He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1949. He joined the USAF in the Korean Conflict. He served for four years. Don married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Jenkins Armstrong, in 1959 and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. They had four children. After the service, Don went to work for NJ Bell Telephone Company as an outside engineer for 32 years. During that time he also was active coaching Delanco athletics. After Don retired, he and his wife wintered in Florida for 22 years, during which, Don served as an usher for Philadelphia Phillies spring training for 12 years. Don died November 1st, 2020 at age 89. He is buried in Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson. US Air Force, Rank? Korea 1931 - 2020
